Malayalam movies typically portray social or familial issues and typically have songs and may be dance, just like
other Indian Cinema. Malayalam Cinema in 1980s and 1990s portrayed stories and characters realistically, and
several of them had good music and humour. During early to mid-2000, Malayalam cinema has seen a lack of original,
deep content movies, and often contain popular comedy. It is also seen that many of the stories are disconnected
from most of the mainstream life, and are often centered only around the life of artists in the field of movie or other performing arts.
However there are several movies that are being produced artistically competent, comparing with movies in other Indian languages.
